Patience

God has been teaching me about patience lately. As I'm preparing for London, I have become antsy to leave the country and begin my new life now. However, I've realized God wants me to rest, seek Him and be patient during this time. I've been reading Christian books, enjoying fellowship with brothers and sisters at Mars Hill, and preparing myself spiritually to embark on this one year journey. It has been such a joy to read the word without school work to distract me. I've realized it really sets the tone of my day...it's truly His 'love letter' to us and we need to re-read it over and over again.

I'm excited for the upcoming adventures He has in store. For now, I will be present in the moment, enjoy summer in Seattle, and learn to take one day at a time. :)

A quote which has spoke to me:

"Quit worrying about how everything is going to turn out. Live one day at a time; better yet, make the most of this moment. It’s good to have a big – picture outlook, to set goals, to establish budgets and make plans, but if you’re always living in the future, you’re never really enjoying the present in the way God wants you to."

Blessings my friends.

Countdown: 2 months

Praise the Lord! I went to community group tonight (from Mars Hill) and it was so nice to pray with other Godly women. I prayed about my preparation for London and God would provide financially for the trip. By the end of the month, I need to pay Time for God $2,500 for the year's expenses and have $2,000 saved up. It's funny how God can answer prayer so quickly and knows exactly what's on my heart. When I got home, I opened two envelopes from friends who graciously sent me $620!

Thank you Lord for providing just right the amount. Today I decided to write goals for my trip in London:

1) building relationships and meeting new people
2) sharing the gospel with unbelievers
3) grow closer to Jesus...because He's the REASON I'm going
4) helping the church, Olympics preparation and youth group
5) finding a mentor
6) joining a Bible study
7) visiting Reality London http://realitylondon.co.uk/ (reality was my church in Carpinteria, CA)
8) ready for the unexpected and adventures to come!
9) exploring the city
10) keep in touch with family and friends

Here's the church I'll be helping at: http://www.asww.org.uk/

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:6
